Our Story
Run by Jim and Kirsty Strange, The Strange Brew Tea Company is a small Edinburgh-based family business with a huge passion for tea!
The name is Strange, the teas are strange, and the trike...? Well, that was our solution to serving a range of tantalisingly tasty teas and treats in a completely environmentally friendly way.

Well here at The Strange Brew Tea Co., alongside traditional and familiar teas, we also offer more unusual blends and infusions created using black, green, fruit, and herbal tea.

We also offer herbal infusions which are naturally caffeine free and contain various minerals, vitamins and antioxidants to help sustain a healthy body and mind.
Additionally, our refreshing fruit infusions contain only the finest ingredients with only natural flavourings. They can be enjoyed ice cold as thirst-quenching refreshments or as delicious hot beverages to keep you warm and toasty!
For thousands of years the Chinese have most popularly used flowers such as jasmine, litchi, orchid and rose with tea leaves which readily absorb their scent. In accordance with such ancient traditional methods our exquisitely flavoured black and green teas are scented and flavoured using freshly picked flowers, fruits, herbs and spices.
We only stock the finest teas sourced from the most experienced artisans, Ronnefeldt Tea, who excel at creating only the best infusions.
Ronnefeldt and the people working for the brand have many years of trade experience and are passionate about tea. The quality is superb and only traditionally produced (orthodox) leaves are used in all tea products. That means hand picking and preparing in small batches using the expertise of the estate managers to determine when and exactly how the leaves should be harvested and processed.
We have a very strong environmental ethos...
...which is why we have chosen a pedal powered trike as our vending unit. All of our materials are carefully sourced from companies such as Vegware, and are recycled, biodegradable or both! Oh, and let's not forget our bio-fuel water boiler, negating the need for fossil fuels such as gas bottles or noisy petrol generators!!
